Shadows dancing on the wall..

I swear every house I have ever lived in has had extras there. This story is from the same house as the cat story. I woke up in the middle of the night. I'm not sure what it was that woke me. I stayed in bed for the longest time, listening to the wind howl.

Finally, I decided to get up, go to the bathroom and get a drink. I stood at the kitchen sink feeling as if someone is watching me. I loathed the thought of leaving the little safe circle of light over the kitchen sink. I am not sure how long I stood there..

I eventually sucked it up and headed into the living room. This is where I saw them. The shadows. On a wall where there should have been no shadows there were human shaped shadows moving around, almost looking like they were dancing to my early teen self.

Needless to say I fled the area. I saw the same sort of shadows following me down the hall. I threw the door shut behind me and jumped into bed. I spent the rest of the night huddled in the corner under my covers..

Hey, thats not the cat.

You know that feeling when the cat hops on the bed, and walks up your body and you feel the blankets pressing down with the weight of each step? There is something comforting and familiar about that, when Frisky, or Simba, or Spot, or whatever your cats name is comes walking up you to lay curl up beside you into a warm ball of fuzzy purringness. Yes, I know it's not a word, LOL..

I was laying in bed in the middle of the night one winter night. Not quite asleep, but almost there. When I feel my cat jump up on the bed and slowly start making it's way up my legs, pausing for a moment about my knees. "Hmm must have needed an immediate spot wash." Then she started forward again onto my stomach, I could feel each foot pressing down on me. You know how cats are, it's like suddenly they weigh 10,000 pounds and have put all their weight on one foot in particular. LOL.

So she comes a bit higher about chest level and stops. Which is odd. She usually just comes stomping up and plops down on my pillow claiming most of it, totally happy and purring. So I blinked my eyes, and kinda lifted up my head to look at her and talk to her.

And there is no FREAKING CAT SITTING ON ME.

I screamed and threw off my covers. I felt the weight of the cat, I felt each step, each sinking of the covers as whatever the heck it was walked up my body, but there was NOTHING there when I looked. I could still feel it, but nothing...

Needless to say, I didn't sleep well the rest of the night what with sitting with my back against the wall and all the lights on.
